“I was honoured to collect this award on behalf of both UrbanTide and Snook - but even more importantly, in recognition of the innovative and transformational journey of North Lanarkshire Council. They are a data inspiration across the public sector and beyond.”

As part of the project, sponsored by the Open Data Institute, the team has also produced a toolkit designed specifically to be of use to organisations looking to design data-led services but who recognise this is a complex process - where they must meet their legal requirements to safeguard personal or identifiable data, deal with source systems that make it difficult to extract, and prepare the data for publication.
“This year’s awards showcase the outstanding range of emerging digital technology firms and those businesses that are going on to grow and scale. It also highlights the innovative digital technologies are enabling within established firms in a range of sectors.”
— Polly Purvis, ScotlandIS Chief Executive
The other companies nominated in the category were Meterology, the energy meter monitoring solution firm, and instant supplier payment decision company, Previse.
The event, held in Glasgow on 26th April 2018 and now in its eighth year, was an opportunity to showcase the very best of technical brilliance within the Scottish digital community.
The 12 awards given out recognised and rewarded outstanding firms from fields ranging from social care to geology, all of which exemplify innovation, expertise, commercial success and ambition.
