UrbanTide has received three nominations at the Scottish Transport Awards 2026. For UrbanTide, that's a reflection of the people in our team, and the partners who trusted us enough to build together.

The nominations are for our uMove product which brings customer data and our data products together to generate insights about how, where, why and when people move and the impact this has.  It took years of work across data science, data engineering and software product design. Two nominations in Excellence in Technology and Innovation tell two sides of the same story. The first is for uMove Mobility Insights as a standalone product which has been tested and proven in Edinburgh and, through our work on the Toyota Mobility Foundation Sustainable Cities Challenge, in Venice. The second is for the uMove platform underpinning the Schools Travel Dashboard which we configured with Walk Wheel Cycle Trust for SPT.   These implementations illustrate our strategic approach valuing both customer data and our own innovative data products to serve community needs. 

The third nomination in Best Practice in Transport Planning, is for uMove Mobility Intelligence and was submitted on our behalf by Connected Places Catapult.  It recognises the work we did together through the TRIG R&D programme in 2025 named AI Active Routes, which was genuinely formative for us. It gave us the space, the rigour and the right partners to develop uMove with customer insight.

The partners throughout all of this including Venice Municipality, SEStran, SPT, Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, Love to Ride, the University of Edinburgh all gave us real problems to solve and real environments to work in. Good technology doesn't just come from labs, it comes from that kind of collaboration.
