Does a room full of entrepreneurially minded data scientists and analysts, clinicians, designers, and software engineers spending 3 days and 3 nights side-by-side developing new product ideas for patients, front line staff and the wider NHS - sound good?
Does a data sharing platform enabling enthusiastic hackers to work on the future of health sound like the cherry on top? We definitely think so! This is why we partnered with Product Forge to support the competitive healthcare hackathon with our USMART data sharing platform.
What: Future Health Product Forge
Where: CodeBase 38 Castle Terrace,
Edinburgh, EH3 9DZ
When: 19-22 Jan, 2017
Participants, in small cross-functional teams, will work on product prototypes with support from industry experts in the NHS and the wider technology community. They will have access to health data released by the NHS Information Services Division, available through USMART, as well as scientific medical imaging data.
Participants can use this opportunity to develop their career, gain new skills, network with professionals, meet potential employers or even kick-start their own business!
We will use this opportunity to observe how USMART performs when it is put to the test by 60+ data scientists working with datasets, some of which exceed 12 million records.
Our team will be on the ground, providing support to the participants. We are also offering a (much coveted) special prize for best use of USMART. The members of the winning team will each win a ticket to our ‘Play & work with data’ open data training.
In case you missed the opportunity to register for the hackathon, you can follow the action via @ProductForge or @urbantide on Twitter.
